Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles. Again, this picture doesn't give a true idea of scale. Santa Monica Pier (http://www.santamonicapier.org) measures 270 by 1080 feet. It has a century old carved carousel on it (not visible) as well as a cheesy amusement centre, and a large cluster of rather expensive seafood fastfood joints and restaurants, as well as mini golf, an arcade, a police station and heaps of fishermen. One of them was using maggots as bait (yummy)... another was using fish. Big, live fish. To catch Bigger Fish. It's a fish eat fish world. (groan.)
